The sectors of creative economy: a comparative analysis of different lists of creative industries

Abstract

The article deals with the areas of creative industries from the perspective of media studies by comparing their different lists. According to the author, it is a dynamic cultural sector that changes in the development of the media, economy and technologies. Different lists of creative industries witness that their borders are not clear and often cover each other. Creative industries add and nourish each other, but their territories are rather hostile. Although government policy shows attention to this sector important for economy, still it often opposes their different territories. In general, creative industries emerge in creative society that is post-industrial, mediated and postmodern.
