Visual studies in Lithuania

Abstract

Visuality and visual studies are an evermore increasing object in the still maturing context. The last decades’ wave of visual studies can be named as visual studies, visual culture studies or visual media studies. Inspired by the visual turn, the origins of visual studies are the history and theory of art, philosophy (cultural philosophy and aesthetics). The article examines Lithuanian authors’ experience in methods of and insights into visual
studies, discourses of different approaches and applications of visuality.
