The search and expression of memes in national culture
Abstract
On the basis of the research of Lithuanian society groups, the expression of cultural memes in the attitudes is analysed. The search for a cultural meme is limited to the analysis of freedom, nature mythologies and religious memes. The forms of the freedom meme are clearest in historical events, historical figures and their estimations. The meme of nature mythologies is found mostly in folk tales. The church religiosity is characterised mainly by Christianity and its provisions; there has been a personalised approach to the religious subject matter. The individual religiousness is expressed in diffused religious forms reflecting a meme as well. The religious meme is characterised not only in traditional beliefs, but also in diffused religiousness which may be designated by an internal or individual religiousness.
