Abstract

The article deals with the academic territories and their limits on the basis of border discourse, approaches of communicology and phenomenological attitudes. The theses have been developed as follows: 1) an academician is a double agent not only by working in different institutions but also by belonging to different academic levels while scientific ideas migrate from one academic territory to another one; 2) an academician finds his (her) identity only by belonging to the community of a certain myth that has been created by him; 3) being alone, an academician is not identical to himself (herself), i. e. he (she) is nothing without an academic background, which has been changed by him (her) while he (she) is searching for his (her) identity; 4) no academic communities competing for borderland territories lose their territories by communicating, on the contrary, they expand their territories by joining new research rims and subsidiary ways
that finally change also the place of the centre and the direction of scientific highways; 5) by financing cultivation of academic territories, the government not only controls the universities but also supervises the established borders of academic activity: academic war would wobble the positions of the government by havocking the established channels of power communication; 6) while dividing and ruling, the government aims to suppress every creative excess with help of academicians and to establish power communication, a channel of which becomes the academic myth as a whole of scientific view and scientific slang to be developed at a certain university; 7) a university (not only private one) becomes the media not only by extending the expectations of society’s consuming but also by ensuring the liquidity of consumer society’s changes; 8) an academic region is a necessary condition of the scientific myth, a vital environment, within which the myth not only develops but also obtains new forms of life; 9) the expertise by reaching to divide the territories of high and low qualities is the island of magic in the rational ocean of the academic myth.
