Abstract
Perlite-SO3H nanoparticles efficiently catalyze the one-pot, two-component reaction of aryl aldehydes and 2-naphthol under solvent free microwave conditions to afford the corresponding 14-aryl 14H-dibenzo[a,j]xanthene derivatives. The present approach offers several advantages such as shorter reaction times, good yields, low cost, and mild reaction conditions.
